Defense Logistics Agency (DLA)


The Defense Logistics Agency is a logistics combat support agency whose primary role is to provide supplies and services to America's military forces worldwide. DLA assumed responsibility for ASSET on October 1st, 1997. ASSET is part of the DLA Logistics R and D Program, Aging Weapons Systems Sustainment Technology initiative.

Defense Supply Center -Richmond (DSCR) The DSCR is one of six supply centers of the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). DSCR provides management of and strategic planning for the ASSET program. DSCR is a customer-driven organization that serves a number of military service customers including the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, and DOD dependent schools by providing supply support, contract administration, and technical logistics services.

Oklahoma State University (OSU) Oklahoma State University is a comprehensive land grant university with extensive graduate and research programs. University faculty and graduate research assistants conduct a number of academic research and technology insertion projects for the ASSET program. OSU personnel provide overall program management and assessment and strategic planning for ASSET. OSU is also responsible for the development and maintenance of this Web site.

Oklahoma State University -Okmulgee

OSU-Okmulgee is branch campus of OSU, specializing in technical training. The ASSET Quality Deployment project funded by the Oklahoma Department of Commerce supports the ASSET program with Quality Assurance programs.

The VEDC recruits small and medium size enterprises (SMEs), mentors them in the government parts procurement process, and forms virtual enterprises of selected SMEs to produce prototype parts as a means of qualifying firms. The Quality Deployment project assists firms in obtaining government quality verifications. In these roles, OSU-Okmulgee works primarily with member firms of the North Eastern Oklahoma Manufacturers' Council, a non-profit organization established in 1993 to assist area businesses in becoming more competitive.

Oklahoma City-Air Logistics Center (OC-ALC)

OC-ALC is a major Air Force maintenance depot located at Tinker Air Force Base, Midwest City, Oklahoma. OC-ALC is an important customer for DLA and it serves as a testbed for deploying and verifying ASSET technologies and business processes. OC-ALC also provides engineering management services for the ASSET Program.

KBE Software, Inc. KBE Software, Inc. (KBE) is an independently owned and operated chapter "S" corporation located in Centerville, Ohio. KBE produces advanced object-oriented multimedia application and client/server database software development tools and provides information systems consulting and software development services to government and commercial clients. KBE has conducted extensive information systems analysis and process/information modeling, and developed specialized engineering/manufacturing data management, configuration management, program management, laboratory information management, and systems engineering process management software for the Department of Defense and NASA. KBE manages the development of the object-oriented software used in ASSET to facilitate information connectivity.

Mercer Engineering Research Center (MERC) MERC is an operating unit of Mercer University, located in Warner Robins, Georgia, that provides engineering, management, and educational services to government and industrial customers. MERC's expertise and primary focus is on solving customer problems by applying known technologies to minimize cost, risk, and development time. MERC's principal current ASSET responsibility is the development of virtual enterprises focused on meeting the needs of Warner-Robins Air Force Base.
